Abstract
Tinnitus is all kinds of noises that the patient perceive by his ear or head without any source of external sound. In the case of personal shooting practice, it can result in the noise induced hearing loss, temporary tinnitus or maintaining it persistently. And if the soldiers are exposed to firing noise repeatedly, this could made the symptom worsen. So we made study on the tinnitus after firing to find out clinical analysis and the effect of some drugs.
The results were as follows.
1. Tinnitus which most patients complained is within 3 months and the number of patients who have tinnitus decreases as the time passes.
2. In the symptoms of tinnitus, it is more occurred left ear than the other.
3. The "hissing" sound is the most suffering symptom in tinnitus.
4. The most case had experienced improvement of tinnitus by concentrating on other thing. And the most cases had experienced aggravation of tinnitus by silence or concentrating on the symptom of tinnitus.
5. The symptoms accompany loss of hearing and difficulties in concentration.
6. Among the 56 ears, 21 ears show a normal capacity of hearing and the others(35 ears) have defect in high-frequence hearing.
7. The pitch of tinnitus was mostly higher than 4,000Hz. The intensity of tinnitus was 0-5 dBSL in many cases.
8. The effect of Carbamzepine and Clonazepeam on tinnitus didn¢¥t show significance statistically in improving the symptom. But in case of severe symptoms, we can consider a trial. of those drugs.
From now on, we should have concerns for the soldiers suffering from tinnitus after personal shooting practice. Especially, when soldiers are at a range, they should be urged to wear earplugs to prevent tinnitus. And continuous study for more effective medicines that decrease the intensity of tinnitus and mitigate the symptom should be made.
